A classic example of this is Drew Carrey..He was on the verge of suicide and he joined the Marines and that was what he needed to change him..
I think its safe to say that it bettered his future..He says without the USMC in his life he would of killed himself..
Every person reacts differently to military service..Nothing is automatic because of service to ones country.

Absolutely. Military children are taught discipline, respect, and independence at a young age. They do not grow up with the same bratty entitlement that most children do and are able to support themselves and succeed in life when it is their time. They are not the type of people who push their problems off on others or expect to be handed everything in life. I would say that military lifestyles lead to drive which brings success.
