Does Anyone Know Any Good Ancedotes Regarding Frugal Lifestyles?

For example, I once saw an interview on Tv with a public school teacher who had saved $250,000 by the time of her retirement. She said she reuses aluminum foil (after washing it off) to avoid buying more. I love stories like this. Only the most tight-fisted examples, please!

I live on coffee and pretzils at work. I don’t go out for lunch. The coffee keeps me energized and the pretzils make my stomach feel full.
People have told me it’s not healthy, but you know what? It keeps those $5 for lunch/per day in my savings account. That’s $25 per week, that’s 1300/year.
I also do other things, but that’s my most tight-fisted.
