Computers seem to affect children in differnt ways. For example chat rooms and blogs can cause problems – parents worry who they are talking to and if they are going to meet strangers. There are also sites for teenagers who suffer eating disorders that encourage them. You could also look at Playstations etc kids come home from school and veg out in front of them and do not interact with their family.
