   hermaphroditism mostly found in the species that the ability to find another partner is very low.for example earthworm, they live in soil where the possibility to find another partner is difficult. But by been hermaphrodite they not need to seek for the partner with another sex but can mate with either of the earthworm the meet.
   parthenogenesis i not so sure but i guess it is something related to social function where animal that do this kind of sexual reproduction mostly the male have less social function they only involve in reproduction.and this kind of reproduction they the species can choose what kind of offspring to be born like if the male species in the population decrease they do parthenogenesis.
   mostly the species that able to resist the change of environment of can live in wider range of habitat do sexual reproduction. and also the higher form of species do sexual reproduction. it can be say sexual reproduction is resutt of evolution. because sexual reproduction prodcue offspring with better quality.

   Just a personal opinion to add,
   Parthenogensis is more ideal in an environment that doesn’t change so much. ie. less need for genetic variation.
