Well I took a sociology class in 10th grade and there was a chapter about alternative lifestyles.
There is no particular age where all of a sudden transgender issues should be taught in schools. In some classroom discussions transgender people naturally fit into the flow of the conversation — like medicine, gender roles, discrimination, and how it effects trans people. Or art, science and history where transgender people have made important contributions to society — and teachers should not be prevented from encorporating this into their discussions at ANY age. After all, there is nothing inappropriate about someone simply having a gender different than what is typical for their birth-assigned sex. It’s just simply a fact of life for many people. Beyond that such discussions can be easily made appropriate to any age group.
And sure enough, I have had the opportunity to talk to very young children up to young adults on transgender issues, including in public schools, and the students have been very mature and even insightful.
I, like many others, stop and ask WHY did this happen..?Within the article, it made mention of faculty at the school more or less turning a blind eye to the possibility of this happening and not taking the proper measures…
Preventative measures should have taken place long before high school.
Where were the parents of the perpetrator..??? They failed to do their job in teaching their son the wrongs and rights of doing ANY harm to ANYONE…
The hate that he bore within himself came from somewhere..? A good chance is that it came right out from the “kitchen table” as he was growing up, from worlds like “G.D. #^$&*(%^ they should all be killed…!!! Kids pick up on this sort of thing, and “act out” the words they hear
We are all products of our environment…. Bad home life – chances are bad actions to follow…
As for the question _ When should all of the t/g and alternative lifestyles be taught in schools…
True, teachers can’t be law enforcers per se – but I think parents should have to attend a meeting with the faculty in the first year of high school, and from such, they could get an idea of what the PARENTS are all about, and then they could probably determine where a problem may occur within the student.
Teaching isn’t easy, especially with the “products ( students) they’re given, nut they surely must be able to determine from square one, who’s a problem or potential problem, and get out the red flag situation..
If teachers can’t determine something, then they’re teaching certificte should be revoked..
Things within the educational system have to tighten up…Kids are there to learn, if they don’t want to learn and are causing problems, then it should be passed along to a higher power..

Transgender issues aren’t about alternative lifestyles.
Any of these issues should by explained in time for people to make responsible decisions. It would help to transition without the wrong puberty, so it’s best to explain trans issues in time for transsexual people to decide to delay puberty.
As it is, I didn’t get anything from the curriculum; I got demeaning stereotypes from transphobic students, didn’t get the truth, and didn’t start my transition until my late 20s.
