Values are important when choosing a career because, this is one factor that limits a persons ability. An extreme example is, “You do not care about peoples live if you want to be an assassin”.
Lifestyle is only secondary, however, it is also needed because, if you want an Urban Setting, (City Dwelling) then you do not want to take a career in Agriculture.
