The children were allowed to play OUTSIDE and UNSUPERVISED! they played in dirt, climbed dirty trees, swam in dirty sea water and even built tree houses from dirty wood (ugh all the germs)
a lot of people smoked cigarettes.
They ate allot of junk food like white bread (which they spread with real butter), bacon, eggs, cooked food in lard and had 2 sugars in coffee. Plus mothers fed their kids crap like pie, cookies and brownies.

for the children part, it’s called trusting your kid and letting them have fun, then having them take a nice long bath.
As for the cigarette part, they didn’t know it was bad until after everyone got addicted
and the junk food….jeez, OUR lifestyle is 10x worse than what they fed their kids. The fast food, preservatives and hormones are killing our people with OBESITY. At least back then everything was natural, and the meat wasn’t packed with hormones, the cheese and butter wasn’t as fatty, and, well, everything was better.
Plus, our porpotions have increased. If you see a muffin from the 80s and a muffin now, your jaw would DROP.
Wow, I hope you’re joking. If your theory that all these things are bad is true, why wasn’t everybody fat back then? It’s all about BALANCE. You can eat that stuff and still be healthy, especially if you ARE playing outside and riding your bike and running around and climbing trees. Besides, being exposed to dirt is actually good for the immune system (it’s been shown that kids kept in a super-clean environment are MORE likely to get sick and have allergies). Kids nowadays are way too overprotected from everything.
are you serious? haha
what’s wrong with playing outside? and where are you getting your facts about trees having germs (well germs that can hurt humans) Germs have to be passed, like through a handshake, cough, or touching something contaminated. They don’t just appear in dirt or trees.
and at least children were ACTIVE! pretty sure that’s healthy.
a lot of people still smoke today.. and drink… and do drugs
yeah so their diets weren’t always the best but it’s because they couldn’t afford better foods or they didn’t have access to them. today, we choose to eat unhealthy for the most part.
