Many people see a sale and run to their local big box store or electronics store for the big screen.  When they arrive they are right where the store and the sales people want them.  Ready to buy a big screen television that they think is going to provide them with the complete home theater experience.  Instead, what they find out is that they need to get other components in order to really get that home theater experience.Here are a few tips to help you when buying a home entertainment system. Do Your Homework.  Retailers count on the fact that you arent educated in what you will need and the competitors pricing.  The internet and books can help guide through the most important and necessary parts of your home theater system.  They can also let you know where to spend a little extra and when to spend a little more.  Also, be sure to know exactly what the focus of your home entertainment system will be.  Will you be primarily watching movies, listening to classical music or hard rock? The choices of your primary components will vary based on the usage your system will get.2. Choose A System That Can Be Expanded.  This will allow you to buy one component at a time as your budget allows.  What you may find is that you want better sound first, or you would prefer a better quality picture than you can adapt accordingly.     3. Make Sure That The System You Buy Has Enough Power.  Dont buy just the minimum power, buy bigger than what you need right now, so that you can expand down the road without having to buy new components.  Remember, a surround sound speaker system requires more power than a stereo and satellite speakers also require a little more juice.  And if you are looking for some good bass sounds, consider purchasing a dedicated power amp, it can make a big difference in the quality of your sound system.4. Last but not least, make sure that you include all types of media.
